Leaving a Legacy

Relate relies on financial support to continue offering its valuable services to couples, families and young people. A thriving, healthy society is formed through the strength of the relationships within. This begins in the home with family life where the adult couple relationship sets the example for our children and nurtures them as the future society. By supporting Relate you will leave a legacy that will build and strengthen tomorrow’s society.

There are different ways you might wish Relate to benefit after your death. A legacy to Relate could take the form of a gift of money or possessions:

• You can leave the residue of your estate or part of it to Relate

• You may make a pecuniary bequest, which is a gift of a stated cash sum. It is tax-free if given to charity.

• You can make a reversionary bequest. This means that the gift in your will reverts to Relate when the original beneficiary dies. The wording for this can be complex so please consult a solicitor

• You can request that ‘In memoriam’ donations be made to Relate instead of sending flowers

If you have not yet made a will it can easily be arranged. It is recommended that you do not attempt to write a will yourself but seek professional advice.
